Lovely little bar - with ( I believe) some ancient history. Located just off main road but with substantial local parking. Good service, reasonable prices, pleasant, friendly and courteous service - and excellent food (at a most moderate cost)! : what else could one want from a local!.

First time in a long while since been at Champion shell. Bar and lounge area nice. Meal wad ok pate & oatcakes to start - generous, steak pie & chips to follow steak couldn't be faulted pastry just crumbled( defrosted?) looking at it and chips not great. Service couldn't be faulted pleasant helpful staff. Possibly rate more 3.1/2.
